Ovarian involvement may resemble mucinous cystadenoma, intestinal mucinous borderline tumor, or ovarian mucinous carcinoma. In pseudomyxoma peritonei, ovarian involvement is usually bilateral and there is extensive mucin dissection, including ovarian surface involvement.
